Abstract:

Objective The present study aims to compare the effects of Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Intensive short-term dynamic psychotherapy ((ISTDP)) on death anxiety of women with breast cancer. Methods This is a quasi-experimental study with a pre-test/post-test design. The study population includs all women suffering from breast cancer covered by the Imam Khomeini Relief Foundation in Gorgan, Iran in 2021. Of these, 30 were selected and randomly divided into two intervention groups of CBT and (ISTDP) and one control group. Ghorbani’, s death anxiety scale in Persian was used to measure death anxiety before and after the interventions. The intervention groups received the interventions at 11 sessions each for 90 minutes, while the control group put on the waiting list. Data analysis was performed by the analysis of covariance in SPSS software, version 26. Results Both CBT and (ISTDP) were effective in reducing the death anxiety of patients (P<0. 05). There was no significant difference between them (P>0. 05). Conclusion CBT and (ISTDP) can reduce the death anxiety of women with breast cancer. There is no significant diffrence between them.

Abstract:

The prevalence of coronavirus and its subsequent quarantine, had social, economic, and psychological consequences. This study aimed to the mediation role of alexithymia and corona anxiety in the relationship between resilience and marital conflicts during quarantine. The design of the study is correlation through path analysis modeling. Among all student couples of Imam Khomeini International University in Qazvin in 2020, a sample of 100 volunteered couples were selected. Data were collected using Marital Satisfaction Questionnaire (Sanaei-Zakir), Toronto Alexithymia Questionnaire, Corona Anxiety Scale (Alipour, et al. ) and Connor and Davidson Resilience Questionnaire and analyzed using structural equation model. Findings showed that alexithymia and corona anxiety play a mediator role between marital conflicts and resilience. Therefore, it can be concluded that by promoting resilience, the ability to deal with anxiety and emotion regulation increases, and consequently, problems such as marital conflicts decrease. The suggestion from these findings, should be to use the resilience promotion programs to deal with anxiety and related problems.

Abstract:

Introduction: The family is the most basic social institution in terms of age, and in terms of its scope, it is the most universal social institution, this shows that forming a family is one of the most basic and natural human needs. The first step to satisfy this basic and natural need is marriage. Despite the pleasantness of the marriage bond, the satisfaction of the couple is not easily achieved, and as a result, the strongest human bond, marriage, in its strongest base, the family system, may be in serious danger. Methodology: The present study is a randomized controlled trial using a pre-test-post-test design with a control group having the usual care of a standard study. The statistical population of the current study was made up of all women with marital conflicts who referred to counseling centers in Tehran in 2011. In this research, two adult attachment scales, the Kansas Marital Conflict Scale were used to collect data. Descriptive statistics (mean and standard deviation) and inferential statistics (multivariate analysis of variance) and spss-19 statistical software were used to analyze the data. became. Findings: In the first part, the descriptive findings of the research were mentioned, and in the second part, the research findings were mentioned from the perspective of inferential statistics. Here, the variables of secure, avoidant and ambivalent attachment styles were used. In an inferential finding, the normality of data distribution is one of the most important presuppositions of all parametric tests such as covariance analysis. The Shapiro-Wilk test was used to check the normality of the distribution of the variables in the pre-test and post-test. Conclusion: The results of the present study showed that Intensive short-term dynamic psychotherapy of attachment styles is effective in women with marital conflicts.

Abstract:

Introduction: eventhough fatigue had been considered as one of the main symptoms of depression, few research has been conducted about it. Both antidepressants and psychotherapies has difficulty treating fatigue. Self-criticism which is highly related with fatigue, is considerd as an obstacle in treating depressed patients. the present study was conducted with the aim of investigating the effectiveness of Intensive short-term dynamic psychotherapy on fatigue and self-criticism of depressed patients. Methods: this was a randomized controlled trial and from patients with Major Depressive disorder of neuropsychiatric clinics in Qom during winter 2023, 64 eligible individuals were selected using randomized clustered sampling and were randomly assigned into intervention ((ISTDP)) and control group. The data from Multidimentional Fatigue Index (MFI-20) and Self-criticsm Scale (SCS) in pretest and posttest were analyzed via SPSS-26 through analyze of covariance (MANCOVA). Results: The results of the multivariate covariance test showed that there is a significant difference between the (ISTDP) group and the control group in a combination of variables of fatigue and self-criticism (F=36. 81 and P<0. 5). Also, the results of Bonferoni's post hoc test showed that the average of the group receiving the (ISTDP) program is significantly less than the average of the control group in both the variable of fatigue and the variable self-criticism (P<0/05). Conclusion: According to the results of the research, it can be said that the (ISTDP) can be an effective treatment for fatigue and self-criticism of depressed patients.

Abstract:

Introduction: Social adaptation includes the effective interaction of a person with the living environment, and its signs are having positive feelings about oneself, participating in social activities, enjoying communication with others, feeling relaxed in unfamiliar situations, having positive feelings about others, and the ability to influence others. . Therefore, the present study was conducted with the aim of determining the effect of "short-term Intensive dynamic psychotherapy" on "social adjustment" of patients with antisocial personality disorder. Methodology: The present study is a randomized controlled trial using a pre-test-post-test design with a control group having the usual care of a standard study. The statistical population of the present study consists of all men aged 19-45 with antisocial personality disorder, prisoners of Semnan prison. Among these people, according to similar research, 16 people were selected according to the available method and were replaced by random number generation method in two intervention and control groups. Milon 3 Multiaxial Scale and Social Adaptation Scale were used to collect information. Descriptive statistics (mean and standard deviation) and inferential statistics (multivariate analysis of variance with repeated measurements) and SPSS-19 statistical software were used for data analysis. Findings: Examining the difference between the average social adjustment of the experimental group (Intensive short-term dynamic psychotherapy) and the control indicates that by removing the effect of pre-tests, between both groups in social adjustment (P < 0. 001, F 34. 01 =), there is a significant difference. Conclusion: The results of the present study showed that Intensive short-term dynamic psychotherapy ((ISTDP)) is effective in increasing the social adjustment of patients with antisocial personality disorder. In explaining this finding, it should be said that in short-term psychodynamics, the clients talk about various topics and the therapist hears various topics, listening helps us to find specific and important elements in understanding the clients. Psychodynamic group therapy approach with emphasis on behaviors The thoughts, emotions and conflicts that people have in their current interpersonal conditions reduce the anxiety and stress of a person.

Abstract:

Sometimes, the obstacles and problems in a person's life disrupt the adaptation and mental balance of a person, which causes mental disorders. This paper determined the effect of Intensive shortterm dynamic psychotherapy on reducing psychological symptoms in patients with an antisocial personality disorder. This was a randomized controlled trial with a pre-test-post-test design and a control group. The statistical population consisted of all men aged 19-45 with antisocial personality disorder living in Semnan prison. According to similar research, 16 subjects were selected using the convenience sampling method and assigned into two intervention and control groups by the Random Number Generator method. The research tools included the Millon Clinical Multiaxial Inventory-III (MCMI-III) and Symptom Checklist-90-Revised (SCL-90-R). Data were analyzed using SPSS-19 and multivariate analysis of variance method. The findings showed that there was a significant difference between both groups in the components of Anxiety, Aggression, Depression, Physical Complaints, Obsessive-Compulsion, Phobia, Psychosis, and Paranoid Thoughts, with the significant difference between the two groups only in the component, sensitivity in interpersonal relationships (P<0. 05, F=1. 35). Conclusion: the results show that Intensive short-term dynamic psychotherapy is effective in reducing the clinical psychological syndromes of patients with antisocial personality disorder and can be used as a desirable treatment method. This treatment method is useful for some care centers for antisocial patients such as camps, educational centers, penitentiaries, and prisons.

Abstract:

Background and aims: The lack of distress tolerance and resilience in type 2 diabetic patients can lead to serious harm to themselves and those around them. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of Intensive short-term dynamic psychotherapy ((ISTDP)) on distress tolerance and resilience in these patients. Methods: This research employed a semi-experimental design with a pre-test-post-test approach and a control group. The statistical population consisted of 30 type 2 diabetic patients from medical centers and hospitals in Qom city, Iran, during the second half of 1403 (Sep 2024 - Mar 2025). Participants were selected through targeted and available sampling and randomly assigned to either the experimental group (n=15) or the control group (n=15). The experimental group underwent (ISTDP) sessions, totaling eight 90minute sessions. Data were collected using the Distress Tolerance Questionnaire (Simmons & Gaher, 2005) and the Resilience Scale (Conner & Davidson, 2003). The data were analyzed using the analysis of covariance (ANCOVA) method. Results: The results indicated that (ISTDP) significantly improved distress tolerance and resilience in type 2 diabetic patients (p < 0.001). Conclusion: (ISTDP) has been shown to produce significant improvements in distress tolerance and resilience among patients with type 2 diabetes. As a result, it can serve as an effective intervention to enhance distress tolerance and foster resilience in this patient population.
